History
The name: Maison 1393 is a magnificent building from the 14th century in Vic La Gardiole near Montpellier in the south of France. The historic vaults from 1393 have been preserved on the first floor. Wine was once produced here. Meter-thick walls and ceilings shield the interior from the heat of the summer. Ideal conditions for pressing wine.
The region: Vic la Gardiole is characterized by the cultivation of wine, embedded in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine-growing region. Languedoc-Roussillon is the largest wine-growing region in France and. It is known for its Syrah, Grenache and Mouvèrdre cuvées.
The logo: The pink flamingos characterise the coastal landscape – and are the inspiration for the wines of Maison 1393.
The friends: Steffen Kühn is a rational flaneur. No bank is too big for him, no idea not worth pursuing. In 2016, he found and renovated Maison 1393. Steffen lives in Berlin and Vic la Gardiole.
Steffen Rehn is a pragmatic connoisseur. He is not afraid of adventure and is always on the lookout for new challenges. Steffen has lived in Denmark since 2016.
Both are united by good taste, interesting wines, a love of France and joint projects. With Maison 1393, they bring a fine and tasteful selection of fine wines (and more) to Germany and Denmark.
